GSCF’s COVID-19 Response

As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we want to update our valued partners about actions GSCF is taking during this time. We are working proactively to:

  • Provide timely and accurate support and service to our clients, grantees and advisors.
  • Ensure the safety of our staff and event attendees.
  • Protect the organization’s assets.

The Greater Salina Community Foundation’s office is closed to the public, effective Monday, March 23 as part of recommended social distancing protocols. While our physical space will be closed, our full team will continue to serve our donors and community remotely.

Remote Meetings/Deadline Extensions

The following board, committee and other meetings will be held by video conference instead of in-person. We will re-evaluate all other upcoming public events at the end of March. Please contact your meeting organizer for further information.

  • GSCF Finance Committee Meeting – March 24
  • Jewell County Community Foundation Board Meeting – March 24
  • Smoky Hills Charitable Foundation Visioning Meeting – March 30

Scholarship selection committee deadlines have been extended to the following:

  • Online evaluations are due March 31, 2020.
  • Scholarship recommendation forms are due April 24, 2020.

How You Can Help

The Salina Area United Way has formed the SAUW COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, which will support local charities who are helping those affected in our community.

The Salina Area United Way is contributing the first $12,500 and Bennington State Bank has committed $12,500. SAUW will also match the next $12,500 in contributions to to the fund. You can give in three easy ways:

  • Mail a check to Salina Area United Way, 210 E Walnut #100, Salina, KS 67401. Please include “Relief Fund” in the memo.
