FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Below is a list of different funding opportunities through the Community Foundation. Click on the fund name to learn more about specific grant criteria.

GSCF Grants (Applications due August 15, October 15, December 15, February 15, April 15)
One application process with dollars available from the following funds:
     Dane G. Hansen Foundation Community Grant Fund
     Fund for Early Childhood Care, Education & Development
     Fund for Greater Salina (note: FFGS funds are not available until Fall 2020)
Kansas Health Foundation Fund for GSCF
     L.P. “Pat” Mullen Fund
 
The Community Foundation will accept grant proposals for “GSCF Grants” online at any time. Grants will be awarded within 4-6 weeks of the grant deadline.

Assaria Community Fund (Available April 15-June 1)
Grants for charitable projects that improve the quality of life for the citizens of Assaria, KS

Dane G. Hansen Foundation Community Clean-Up Fund (Available August 1-March 1)
Community Clean-Up grants help to beautify communities while promoting community pride and volunteerism.

Dane G. Hansen Foundation Strategic Initiative (Contact the Foundation for more information)
Strategic initiative grants that advance the vision “to have a fully invested and engaged community through the creation of vibrant and safe neighborhoods that demonstrate smart and sustainable growth to impact underserved populations.”

Rob Schorling Memorial Fund (Accepts applications anytime)
Grants to assist with expenses related to the treatment of Leukemia and/or bone marrow transplants

Salina Youth Baseball Fund (Available February 1-June 1)
Grants to assist Saline County youth with limited financial resources play in local baseball leagues

Women Helping Women (Available July 1-14; October 1-13; January 1-12; April 1-13) 
Grants to assist struggling Saline County women who may be in crisis and need a “hand up”

YW Legacy Fund (Available October 15-December 15)
Grants to support initiatives that align with the mission of the former Salina YWCA.


HOW TO APPLY

Greater Salina Community Foundation makes it easy for you to apply for a grant online. Please read the instructions below before beginning an application. All GSCF grant applications should be made online unless otherwise noted.

STEP 1: REVIEW ELIGIBILITY, GUIDELINES & DEADLINES

  • Each competitive grant fund the Community Foundation manages has its own guidelines for eligibility, application and deadlines for submission of proposals.
  • A few of our funds have rolling deadlines; most accept applications only at certain times of the year.
  • Applicants are required to read the general grant guidelines and specific fund guidelines before starting an application.
  • Click on Apply for a Grant to the right.

STEP 2: CREATE AN ACCOUNT

  • Select one login email address/password to be used for all your submissions.
  • Provide the email address of the person ultimately responsible for the grant administration. GSCF will communicate all pertinent information to this email address.

STEP 3: COMPLETE THE ONLINE GRANT APPLICATION

STEP 4: COMMUNITY FOUNDATION WILL REVIEW YOUR APPLICATION

Your grant application is reviewed by a grants committee, followed by a recommendation for funding to the Community Foundation’s Board of Directors. During this process, our staff may contact you for more information.

STEP 5: FINAL GRANT DECISIONS ARE MADE

You will be notified by email if your organization received full or partial funding or in some cases, if funding has been denied. Decisions are typically made within 6-8 weeks after the application deadline.
