Summer Grants Awarded Over $30,000
Over $30,000 in Grants Awarded by Community Foundation!
SALINA, Kan.— The Greater Salina Community Foundation recently awarded over $30,000 to 8 charitable projects and organizations through its competitive summer grant cycle.
This year's grant recipients include funding toward supporting youth programs, providing critical hygiene items, needed renovations to serve community, and technology in classrooms.
This cycle’s grant recipients include the following:
Community Impact Grants:
- New Heights Therapeutic Riding Inc- $5,000.00 toward therapeutic riding scholarships.
- Blessed Hope Family, Inc.- $5,000.00 to help their efforts through Empowering Families and Expanding Services Project.
- Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank- $5,560.00 to purchase critical hygiene items.
- Salina Art Center- $2,450.00 to purchase supplies for Youth Arts Programs.
- Journey Ventures Inc- $7,500.00 toward renovations to restore capacity and improve quality of women’s home.
Capacity Building Grants:
- Prairieland Market- $1,888.00 for furthering employee education through certification programs.
- Coronado Area Council, Boy Scouts of America- $2,400.00 for scouting marketing equipment.
Operating Grants:
- USD 306- $3,562.74 to purchase two 3D printers, curriculum, materials, and a cooling unit for OMTECH CO2 laser.
This round of grants was made possible by five funds at the community foundation: the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, which supports projects and programs that improve the community’s quality of life; the Kansas Health Foundation Fund, which supports the public health of Saline County; the Fund for Greater Salina which supports funds used for a variety of charitable causes that positively impact the community; the L.P. “Pat” Mullen Fund, which supports hands-on learning opportunities for youth in the areas of arts and humanities and science, technology and invention; and the George & Jeanne Frisbie Fund, which supports basic needs of underserved populations by funding projects and programs.
