First Friday - The Kansas Figure Drawing Group

Friday, June 07, 2024 - Friday, June 07, 2024

Join us at The United Building anytime from 4-6pm for light refreshments, good company, and talented artists!

The Kansas Figure Drawing Group was formed in 2009 when a group of artists started meeting weekly to draw and paint the human figure by working with a live model. Our goals are both personal and community oriented. The artists all strive to increase their skills. As a group, we get to document life around us by zeroing in on groups like dancers, musicians, clergy, teachers, students, friends a group we called "Notable Kansans"... people making a difference in the quality of life for all Kansans.

The group has hosted workshops by bringing in highly skilled artists to teach not only those in the figure drawing group but any artist in the area. Two years ago, the group moved from the Depot in Bennington to an independent studio space at The Temple in Salina. The artists who support this group are of all different skill levels and from various locations throughout Kansas.

Please come to First Friday, meet some of the artists and enjoy their work.
