Greater Salina Community Foundation Eliminates Administrative Fees for Organization Funds
Donor generosity and decades of responsible stewardship make milestone possible.
The Greater Salina Community Foundation (GSCF) has eliminated administrative fees on all GSCF Organization Endowed Funds and Organization Restricted Funds, allowing more charitable dollars to remain invested in the nonprofit organizations serving our communities.
The decision, approved by the Foundation's Board of Directors and effective immediately, reflects GSCF's commitment to strengthening nonprofit organizations and helping them build long-term financial sustainability. Nonprofits will continue to receive the same professional investment management, accounting, reporting, fund administration and stewardship services without an administrative fee.
"This announcement reflects exactly what our Founders hoped the Community Foundation would become," said Jessica Martin, President and Executive Director of the Greater Salina Community Foundation. "Their vision was to create a Foundation that would grow stronger over time and continually give back to the communities it serves. Thanks to the generosity of our donors and decades of responsible stewardship, we're now able to invest even more in the nonprofit organizations that improve lives throughout our community."
A Legacy of Generosity
The milestone was made possible in large part by the foresight of GSCF's Founding and Sustaining Donors and original board members, whose generosity helped establish the Foundation's Administrative Endowment Fund. Created to provide a permanent source of operational support, the endowment has helped build the financial strength that allows GSCF to reinvest in its nonprofit partners while maintaining long-term sustainability.
Founded in 1999, GSCF has grown to steward more than $385 million in charitable assets, supporting donors, nonprofit organizations and communities throughout the region.
"One of the most meaningful aspects of this decision is that the generosity of donors who invested in the Foundation years ago is continuing to create new opportunities for our communities today," Martin said. "Their gifts didn't just help build an organization. They created a lasting resource that allows us to continually find new ways to support the charitable work happening throughout our region."
Investing in the Future of Nonprofits
Organization Endowed and Organization Restricted Funds provide nonprofits with permanent sources of financial support, helping sustain their missions for generations to come. By eliminating administrative fees on these funds, more charitable dollars can remain invested and available to address local needs, create opportunities and strengthen communities.
The decision reflects GSCF's core values of stewardship, collaboration, integrity and approachability. By managing resources responsibly and working alongside nonprofit partners, the Foundation is putting those values into action—strengthening organizations today while helping ensure they have the resources to serve their communities for generations to come.
"As the Foundation grows stronger, we believe the communities we serve should benefit as well," Martin added. "This is one more way we can work alongside our nonprofit partners to create lasting impact. We're grateful to the donors who made it possible and to the organizations that trust us to help steward their charitable resources."
